Hello Fellow Mini Volleyball Friends,

We are pleased to be entering the 8th season of our very successful West Hants Mini Volleyball program offered to students in Grades 4-6. For those of you new to the Mini Volleyball concept, it is a great way to be physically active while learning volleyball skills but more importantly, a time to have fun with friends!

Volleyball has been traditionally difficult to introduce to elementary school aged children. The Mini Volleyball program has allowed us to overcome those obstacles. Mini Volleyball is played on a smaller court, the net is lower and balls are lighter. We play with 4 players on a team to allow more opportunity to contact the ball to help develop their skills and experience success.

Mini Volleyball is a program that is endorsed by both Volleyball Nova Scotia and Volleyball Canada. Our program was initially the pilot program for Volleyball Nova Scotia and to date is one of the largest programs in the province.

Since the creation of our West Hants Mini Program in 2003, we have started to see the long-term results of introducing the sport of volleyball at a younger age. We are developing skilled volleyball players in the West Hants area and our Mini participants are now competing on school teams as well as club and provincial teams.

Our 10 week program will be offered on the following nights:

Wednesdays 6:30-7:45pm Location: Brooklyn District Elementary School Start Date: Oct.12th
Mondays 6:15-7:30pm Location: Avon View High School Start Date: Oct. 17th

There are still plenty of spots available. You simply come to the gym on the first night and register at that time.

The registration fee will be $50.00 which is due upon registration. The fee includes a Mini Volleyball T-shirt as well as registration with Volleyball Nova Scotia to ensure that our participants are adequately insured.

Volunteers are vital in making this program a success. Parents please complete the section on the registration form if you are interested. No experience necessary.

Our motto is ‘to PLAY’, ‘have FUN’, and ‘experience SUCCESS’. We look forward to another great season ahead! Hope to see you there.

First Annual West Hants Mini-Volleyball Camp

Come join us at AvonView High School for an afternoon of mini-volleyball fun and excitement

With the mini-volleyball season about to start, this is a great opportunity to get back into the swing of things. All students in grades 4-6 are welcome to attend, whether you are brand new to the sport or a veteran returning for another year.
The afternoon will include:

An introduction to the game of volleyball
Sample skill instruction and games
Volleyball demonstrations from some West Hants Wizards players

Date: Saturday September 24
Registration: 12:30pm
Play will be from 1-5pm
Cost: $20 (cash or cheques payable to Windsor Volleyball Association)

Thanks to everyone that made this season a Success! All the athletes, parents, coaches and volunteer’s had a great time!
As we finish up out 4th year(wow time fly’s), We are very happy with the direction in which our club is going. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do, and make this great sport so available to everyone if it wasn’t for you all. Thank you for your time and commitment to Wizards Volleyball, and we hope to see everyone back next year with hopefully some more new faces!

Keep checking back over the summer for updates, We will be launching a new version of the website, and all the information about our club will be readily available here! Thank you all again for making this season another great success, and we cannot wait until next year!

Second Tryout for Wizards Volleyball 2010

Girls born in 1996 and later – 11AM-12:30PM
Boys born in 1995 and later – 11AM-12:30PM

Girls Born in 1995 and 1994 – 12:30PM – 2PM
